What Clients Are Saying
Dana Day and her team were chosen to renovate our home by Lowe’s and HGTV’s Build it Forward television show. From the moment we met Dana we knew her heart was in the project. She was completely invested. She told us early on that making sure the renovation was structurally sound and would last for many years to come was her ultimate priority. They ran into several issues along the way that they could have just glossed over, but instead Dana made sure they were fixed properly and would be long lasting.
Although we were not allowed to see the project as it was in progress, along the way if there questions or if we needed anything Dana was totally responsive. Her team worked nights and weekends to get the renovations completed before the deadline given by the production crew. She gathered volunteers to beautifully landscape our front yard as well. She put so much love, care and concern into the entire project. The before and after pictures of our home’s transformation are unbelievable. Even when the show was completed and we moved back into our home, she still followed up on a few things that remained.
We have worked with so many local contractors as we have been renovating a historic building for the past fifteen years. For the HGTV program, Dana and her team built a stage area that involved other elements of construction too. We fully trusted her with a project that has been our life’s work and she again did not disappoint! The end result was incredible! Dana is by far one of the most professional, caring, responsive, and invested contractors out there! Her focus on excellence in the job she does is evident from the moment you meet her. Our experience is the proof.

As soon as I met Dana I knew I was going to enjoy working with her. Our first project was a retaining wall in the backyard, walls can be pretty. Then I had this idea of repairing the front retaining wall, improving the access to the front door with new steps that were not so steep and would be safe. But also needed access for wagons and strollers that was well lit. And a place to park garbage cans so they did not block the driveway. Dana listened. It turned out better than I had imagined. Dana stayed in touch throughout the project and was easy to reach if I had questions. She worked with skilled, professional sub-contractors. I highly recommend engaging Dana look forward to working with her my next project.

We’ve hired Day Build and Design LLC on two separate occasions. The first in 2017/2018 for additions of a master bath, closet/laundry room, and a remodel of an existing “bonus room” off our kitchen. Our home was built in 1950, and had several nuances. We spoke to SEVERAL contractors; a few never contacted us back; a couple presented bids; Dana showed up with an extremely detailed bid along with allowing us the capability of viewing any changes and knowing exactly where money was spent along the way. We obviously hired her. Dana had a great vision and opened our eyes to possibilities we hadn’t considered. The project eventually morphed into enclosing our porch to create a more defined entrance and installing new flooring and backsplash in the kitchen; our decision with no pressure from Dana. She took every add-on / change in stride, presented ideas, and rolled along with the project. The entire project lasted approximately 6 months. I would love to say it was lollipops and ponies the entire time, but that’s not reality in construction. With that being said, Dana handled every issue/problem professionally and made corrections immediately. I never felt we were being taken advantage of or that she was being loose with our money. The completed project turned out beautifully, and we love everything about our home.
This year (2021), we ventured into “phase 2” of our house overhaul; an outdoor patio/living space. We did our due diligence again by interviewing potential contractors; Day Build and Design LLC being one. Exact same thing happened as our first remodel. Again, we hired DB&D. The project was near flawless. We only had a couple of issues with the concrete guys. Dana stayed on them, had them redo their mistakes, and even sat in 90°+ weather watching them redo stairs they had initially messed up twice. She literally sat in a patio chair watching the workers every move to ensure the new master bedroom/patio entrance was done correctly. The project lasted approximately 6 weeks; we couldn’t be more happy with the outcome.

Dana exudes positive energy. She’s a good listener, has creative solutions and has a crew of talented workers. We thoroughly enjoyed our experience working with her as the customer’s designers. Dana was featured on HGTV for her remodeling construction in Tulsa. She was also featured on GC Magazine. She has been a home builder and remodeler for over 20 years.

When our neighbors used Day Build for their room addition, I was impressed with its quality and contracted Dana Day. She was able to respond quickly to my ideas about turning a screened porch into a “real” room. She showed customer focus and attention to the distinct needs of our project. She was patient and respectful throughout the process, even when Covid-created challenges slowed down the supply chain. In the end, we love our new room and feel that we have found in Dana Day a trustworthy ally in future projects.

Dana built our custom home, from working on the design with us and the architect (W Design – very good) for 3 months through final construction. Dana is a professional and excels at designing interior spaces, ongoing communication, and working to get things right. My deciding factor with choosing her was #1 I felt I could trust her most to shoot me straight (and just trust overall), and 2) her talent and eye for design. She delivered on both of those. She also went out of her way to make things right when things went sideways with a contractor.
I believe Dana builds beautiful homes, is trustworthy, and is a joy to get to know and work with. And we love our home.
